DESIGN COMPETITION FOR THE BIOSAFETY APPEALS BOARD LOGO RESTRICTED TO YOUTHS AND PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES (WHO ARE DIFFRENTLY ABLED)
The Biosafety Appeals Board was established under Section 35 of Biosafety Act 2009. The Board is a quasi-Judicial body mandated by the government of Kenya to receive and adjudicate complaints/appeals from persons aggrieved by decisions of National Biosafety Authority (NBA) established under section 35 and 36, and more particularly to -
a) Receive and adjudicate appeals emanating from decisions of the National Biosafety Authority.
b) Communicate the decision to the parties in dispute and thereafter publish the decision for the purpose of disseminating the information to the public;
c) Maintain a database of appeals, judgments and resolutions from ADR
d) Establishing alternate dispute resolution mechanism (ADR) to resolve appeals emanating from the National Biosafety Authority
e) Develop and review inter-relationships and linkages across the Biosafety sector in consultation with stakeholders, relevant institutions and agencies;
f) Develop a system for issuing environmental restoration orders in accordance with Biosafety Act;
g) Award costs, impose levies and other charges to persons who violate the Biosafety Act.
h) Enter into associations with such other bodies or organizations in Kenya or outside Kenya as it may consider appropriate to promote the purposes for which the Appeals Board is established;
i) Perform such other functions as may be provided under Biosafety Act 2009.
In light of the above functions the Biosafety Appeals Board through the Ministry of Education, State Department for University Education and Research, invites design logos from interested youths and people with Disability (who are differently abled) for the Biosafety Appeals Board through a design competition approach under the following terms.

Complete expressions of interest documents in plain sealed envelopes with assignment reference and name clearly marked on top should be delivered in person, or placed in the tender box at our offices on the 9th Floor, Jogoo House, Harambee Avenue by 10th January, 2019 at 1000 hours Kenyan local time. Submissions will be opened immediately thereafter in presence of designers or their representative who which to attend.
